April is National Volunteer Month—join HACCM in sharing appreciation for all the volunteers who support our work and bring our mission to life. Thank you, volunteers!
Today, we are featuring one of our newest volunteers: Kathy! Kathy has been helping us digitize files from our community history project, a collection of surveys that several people filled out with details about their family histories, immigration stories, and other details. These questionnaires complement our other archival holdings, which include oral history interviews and photographs.
Kathy has been utilizing her background in computers, databases, and information management to help us digitize these materials. Once digitized, Kathy is connecting the survey data to other archival holdings, such as oral history interviews. Through her work, Kathy is digitizing important community historical information and ultimately helping us build a searchable collections database that can be used for research. Join us in sharing appreciation for Kathy and this helpful work she is doing for HACCM!
Do you have an interest, skill, or talent that you would like to put to use? At HACCM, we always have opportunities for volunteers, from docents to oral history interviewers! Get in touch today if you’d like to learn more.
