“Ena Tanks Sto Krebati Mou” (1975)
Language: Greek, English Subtitles
Type of movie: Comedy
The film, a funny satire, describes the major events of the military dictatorship in Greece from 1967 to 1974 through the life of a peaceful kiosk owner and his family. He has to overcome a number of difficult events, putting on his best smile for the policemen and their acolytes who shop daily at his store in order to keep his younger brother (a leftist student and revolutionary) from discovery by the authorities. The film also satirically looks at how politics can influence personal relationships and family life in Greece.
