Drómeno Rembetiko Concert to Benefit HACCM

The Hellenic-American Cultural Center & Museum of Oregon and SW Washington was excited to partner with renowned Greek folk music band Drómeno for an evening of rembetiko in a  Facebook Live concert. This virtual event was free of charge, but donations are requested in support of HACCM’s mission to gather, preserve, and share the Hellenic American experience in the Pacific Northwest.

DRÓMENO is a traditional ensemble presenting regional folk music from the Greek mainland and beyond, overlapping into the surrounding regions and finding the musical legacy that connects the traditions of the Balkans. Featuring bouzouki and voices, the instrumentation includes accordion, saxophone, violin, oud, clarinet, zourna, guitar, laouto, kanun and percussion, and enables the group to span the sounds of Greek music, from western Macedonia and Ipiros, through Thessaly, Thrace and Asia minor.
