This month’s episode:
To celebrate Greek Independence Day, Marina and Eleni discuss the life of Lord Byron, the famous Romantic poet. As a Philhellene, Byron made substantial contributions to the independence effort and is honored in Greece as a folk hero for his commitment to Greek freedom and democracy. Excerpts of Byron’s poems “Isles of Greece” and “On This Day I Complete My Thirty-Sixth Year,” relating to his time in Greece, are read by Joan and Georgia.
