HACCM is pleased to announce two new resources for learning about Hellenic (Greek) arts and culture that include a physical and digital collection guide. Guided by a desire to share our collection widely with philhellenes of all ages, HACCM embarked on a project to create two free resources for our visitors. As a bonus, both are available online! This project was generously supported by grants from the The Oregon Heritage Commission, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department and The Regional Arts & Culture Council and the Arts Access Fund.
Collection and Resource Guide
HACCM’s museum has an eclectic collection of art, artifacts, and archives. Museum visitors have the chance to learn from these objects with a visit to the museum: close looking inspires discoveries and new questions, and wall labels help provide historical and cultural context for what the objects represent. Building on this, HACCM decided to create a collection and resource guide that would help orient the visitor to our collection, provide them with broader historical context, and connect them to additional resources. Our hope is that this guide will help educators, students, and museum visitors of all backgrounds dive a little deeper into HACCM’s collection. Physical copies are available at the museum, and the guide can be accessed online here.
Free Digital Guide and Audio Tour
In addition to our physical collection guide, HACCM is pleased to announce our new digital guide, which is hosted through Bloomberg Connects, the arts and culture app. The free digital guide, which is available on a desktop browser or mobile app, provides another point of access to our collection. One of the most exciting features on this app is that we were able to create an audio tour of our permanent collection, providing additional insight and stories about the objects on display. You can view the free digital guide at home or in the museum, and we hope you’ll visit and give it a try soon! Visit this link to view the guide.
