HACCM recently received a one-of-a-kind gift: a replica of Holy Trinity Cathedral, built by Holy Trinity parishioner and carpenter Velissarios Kokkoris, who passed away earlier this year. His wife Kalliopi Kokkoris and daughter Roula Fassilis donated the model to HACCM and it is currently on display near the replica altar in the museum. The model is 34” tall and 44” long, and is complete with electric lighting, opening doors, and window panels for viewing the furnished interior. Roula writes that her father “was a man of deep faith. He found a picture of Holy Trinity and decided to build a small version in his basement shop around 2018. He kept it a secret from everyone, including his wife. He kept the door to his area closed and worked on it for months. When it was time to reveal, he was so proud of it.” Mrs. Kokkoris and her daughter added a few finishing touches before presenting the gift to the museum. We are honored to display this piece at HACCM in memory of Mr. Kokkoris.
