HACCM is pleased to announce a series of Greek textile workshops in conjunction with our current exhibit, Follow the Thread: The Fabric of the Hellenic Spirit. There will be three workshops (once a month between January and March) that teach a variety of techniques, skills, and history. No experience is required, and seasoned textile artists are welcome too!
In this session, one of our community members will lead a demonstration and workshop on the techniques of crochet. Using designs inspired from our current exhibit, you will learn how to create these designs on a square (use as a pot holder, doily, or framed decor!) to take home! All supplies are included.
Textile Workshop Dates:
- Saturday, January 31 (10 a.m. – 12 noon)
- Project: Cross-stich and embroidery dishtowel
- Saturday, February 21 (12 noon – 2 p.m.)
- Project: Needlepoint coaster
- Saturday, March 21 (10 a.m. – 12 noon)
- Project: Crochet square
All workshops will take place at HACCM, located at 3131 Glisan St., Portland, OR 97232.
You can attend one, two, or three sessions as each will be unique and designed around a standalone project. Classes are $20 each or $50 for all three sessions. You can register for any combination of classes.
Registration is now open! Space is limited and registration will close on Thursday, January 15.
