Opa Volta 5K Walk/Run

HACCM’s Annual Opa Volta 5k is back, and this year we’ve got some exciting news: Opa Volta is now a walkathon AND jogathon–so whether you prefer to stroll or sprint, tie up your laces and come support the museum and cultural center during our 4th annual Opa Volta 5k Walk/Run!

Event details:

Date: Saturday, August 17th, 2024

Time: Check-in at 8am; walk/run begins at 8:30am

Location: 3131 NE Glisan Street (Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral parking lot). This is where registration will take place, and where the walk/run route starts and finishes.

Entry: $25.00 per person | $20.00 for Friends of HACCM members and for group entry | Under 12: free

What is the walk/run route for Opa Volta?

The route is 5 kilometers (just over 3 miles) through the Laurelhurst neighborhood. Click here to see the route!

How can I fundraise for this event?

Setting up your own fundraiser is a great way to spread awareness for HACCM’s mission and to help us reach our fundraising goal! You do not have to register for the walk/run to fundraise. Follow these instructions on the GiveLively website to set up a fundraising page. You will get a unique link to share with your family, friends, colleagues, neighbors, and anyone else! Donations made through your fundraising page will go directly to support HACCM.

How can I walk/run with a team?

Teams consist of any group made up of 5 or more individuals. You can register with your sports team, your Greek dance group, your walking club, your cousins, etc. Each team will need a team leader and a team name to start. Follow these instructions on the GiveLively website to set up a team, or join an existing team.

Make sure to enter your team name when you register to get the discounted registration price!

What should I expect after the walk/run?
  1. Stop by the AHEPA Car Show, which also takes place in the Holy Trinity Parking Lot. Food will be available from onsite vendors!
  2. Make sure to stop by the museum and cultural center (2nd floor of the Father Elias Stephanopoulos Center, the building adjacent to the paring lot), to see our latest exhibit, “Opening the Doors”  An Exhibition of Community ArtistsAdmission to the museum is free.
